Hammond Bankruptcy Attorneys

Creditors may be calling you demanding payment. You may be facing the threat of foreclosure or wage garnishments. The longer you wait to address these issues, the longer it will take to overcome them.

The experienced Hammond bankruptcy lawyers at Manning & Mouratides, P.C., can help you move forward without losing everything. We use Chapter 7, Chapter 13 and Chapter 11 bankruptcy strategically to help our clients save what they have earned while still ridding themselves of the debt burden that has crippled them financially.

The Chapter 13 And Chapter 7 Bankruptcy Process

When you contact our firm, we will guide you through the bankruptcy process, taking the time to answer your questions and help you make educated decisions about your financial future. You will never be kept in the dark or be pushed into legal action that is inappropriate for your case.

During your initial consultation with our office, we will discuss the various legal options available and which chapter of bankruptcy would be most appropriate for your needs. We will ask a series of questions regarding your income, assets and goals.

When you have confirmed that you would like to move forward, we will detail your financial information in your bankruptcy petition and file it with the court. Approximately 30 days after signing the petition, we will have a 341 meeting with the bankruptcy Trustee, which is the Trustee's chance to review your income and assets to clarify how they will be treated through bankruptcy.

If Chapter 7 was filed, your debts will be discharged in a matter of months. If Chapter 13 was filed, your new, manageable payment plan will begin repayment approximately 30 days after your initial filing. It does not take long for you to be freed from the burden of overwhelming debt.

We work closely with our clients to address their unique financial circumstances and only recommend the legal strategies that our experience has proven to be effective. We will never recommend bankruptcy unless we truly believe it is the right option for you.
